Steve The Victim Addresses The Grunt 2-Pack Situation

Today on the Spawn.com messageboard, Steve "The Victim" Hamady addressed the Grunt 2-pack issue with the following information. While this info still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, it's not going to change. Many thanks to Steve for clearing the issue up.

Here's what he said:

...several people have mentioned to me their disappointment in the disappearance of the Grunt 2 pack.

...there was some talk about a 2 pack for the Grunts, until we found out just how big the Grunts were actually going to be.

...fair, or unfair?

...well, let's do the math.

...Master Chief with Assault rifle - 57.1 grams
...Grunt with Plasma Pistol and Needler - 60.4 grams
...Jackal with Beam Rifle - 64.7 grams
...Brute Chieftain with Gravity Hammer - 232.4 grams

...OK. So, what does that tell us? It tells us that the average weight for the Master Chief, Grunt and Jackal is about 60 grams. That puts the Grunt right on target as an average size figure. Nothing more, nothing less.

...it also tells us, that the Brute Chieftain is the Malebolgia of the line. The money loser, because of the amount of plastic used to produce it.

...our goal is to average the figure weights out amongst the different size figures. Making them fit a certain price point. For the most part, we succeeded. But, failed miserably with the Brute Chieftain. Although, totally unavoidable, due to the size of the character and its relationship to the others.

...I hope this helps you understand why there is no Grunt 2 pack.
