McFarlane Toys released the following information on the new Steel Spartan Soldier exclusive figure that will be found only at Gamestop. This will be the first major figure released at the gaming store in years and is a move that many fans and hobbyists were predicting and/or hoping for.
Of particularly interesting note, the news of the removeable helmet and armor is a bit of a surprise, as is the fact that they claim it will be interchangible with the other Spartan figures. Customizing your personal Spartan may have just become significantly easier.

GameStop, the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer, will carry an exclusive figure from McFarlane Toys' first line of Halo 3 action figures. The Steel Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Spartan will feature 18 points of articulation, making it the most playable action figure McFarlane Toys has ever produced. The Steel Spartan also features removable CQB armor new to the Halo universe - chest and shoulder plates and helmet are removable and will be interchangeable with other McFarlane Spartan figures. This figure is scheduled to be available through GameStop in March 2008.
It can be found on GameStop's website, here for $12.99 and it appears that you can pre-order them in-store. I'd call ahead for and make sure before I ran over there, personally.
